Bloomberg HT August inflation survey results announced
According to the new research conducted with the participation of economists, the median monthly and annual inflation forecasts for August have become clear.
Closely followed by the business world, the Bloomberg HT August inflation survey has been concluded. The research revealed the market's expectations for the near term and the coming year.
August Median Expectations
According to the joint forecast of 18 institutions participating in the survey, inflation in August is expected to be 1.91 percent on a monthly basis. The economists' median forecasts reflect market trends in terms of monthly and annual rates.
In evaluations made on an annual basis, the median expectation was shaped at 31.86 percent. The participants' forecasts reveal periodic changes in the course of inflation.
Monthly and Annual Forecast Ranges
While the lowest monthly expectation submitted by participants for August inflation was 1.25 percent, the highest expectation reached 2.10 percent. In annual evaluations, the highest forecast indicated 32.19 percent and the lowest forecast indicated 31 percent.
Year-End and Next Year Projections
Survey participants also shared their expectations for 2026 and 2027. Accordingly, the year-end inflation expectation for 2026 was determined as 29.5 percent, while this rate was recorded as 23 percent for 2027.
When examining the extreme values for year-end forecasts, the highest expectation for 2026 was 31.5 percent and the lowest expectation was 28 percent. For 2027, the highest forecast was 25 percent and the lowest forecast was at the level of 20 percent.
Previous Data and Announcement Date
In July, inflation had increased by 1.90 percent on a monthly basis and 31.60 percent on an annual basis. The official August inflation data, which the markets are focusing on, is expected to be announced to the public on September 3.
