Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay announced that the highly anticipated chamber organ elections will be held on Thursday, October 1, at the Bursa Exhibition Center.

Election Date and Venue Announced

BTSO President İbrahim Burkay announced the date and venue of the chamber organ elections to the public at the BTSO Assembly Meeting, which was also attended by Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar. According to the statement, BTSO members will cast their votes at the ballot boxes to be set up at the Bursa Exhibition Center on Thursday, October 1. With this announcement, the uncertainties regarding the election calendar and venue selection, which had been a subject of debate in the Bursa business world for some time, have been resolved.

Stating that the elections are a democratic race, Burkay emphasized that the candidates should consist of reliable and visionary individuals who know their sectors well. Expressing that he does not see October 1 as a day of division, Burkay stated that this process is a day of unity and solidarity, and this togetherness will further strengthen the city.

High Demand for TEKNOSAB SME OIZ Project

Sharing updated information about the TEKNOSAB SME OIZ project in his speech at the meeting, İbrahim Burkay stated that more than 8,000 manufacturers in Bursa are trying to produce in narrow and logistically inadequate areas within the city. He expressed that with the implementation of the SME OIZ project, producers will gain access to modern and planned industrial areas.

Announcing that more than 2,500 SMEs have requested to participate in the project, even though just over two weeks have passed since the project's introduction, Burkay said that this intense interest is the most concrete indicator that the project meets a real need.

Bursa's Importance in the Turkish Economy

Drawing attention to the critical role Bursa plays for the Turkish economy, Burkay argued that if the city loses its vision, the whole of Turkey will lose. Stating that as BTSO, they support a common understanding and ideals rather than individuals, Burkay added that they will continue projects that will increase the city's production, industry, and export capacity in the new period.
