Electric vehicle charging infrastructure is developing in Turkey

The Energy Market Regulatory Authority's July 2026 data revealed the current balance between the number of electric vehicles and publicly accessible charging sockets in Turkey.

Vehicle and Socket Counts

While the electric vehicle transition continues rapidly in Turkey, according to EMRA's July 2026 data, the total number of electric vehicles on the roads reached 464,873.

The number of publicly accessible electric vehicle charging sockets was recorded as 46,665 in the same period, resulting in approximately 1 socket for every 10 vehicles.

Change Over the Years

In July 2023, there were 8,430 charging sockets compared to 32,777 electric automobiles, resulting in approximately 1 socket for every 4 electric vehicles.

Over the past three-year period, the electric vehicle fleet increased approximately 14-fold, while the number of charging sockets showed a 5.5-fold increase.

Fast Charging and Consumption

As of July, there are 20,461 DC fast-charging sockets across Turkey, indicating that there is approximately 1 fast socket for every 23 electric vehicles.

While the number of AC sockets stands at 26,204, more than 3.3 million transactions were made at commercial stations, and total electricity consumption was approximately 90,000 MWh.

Operator Distribution

According to EMRA July 2026 data, the operator with the highest number of charging sockets in Turkey was recorded as Zes with 5,519 sockets.

Zes was followed by Trugo with 3,868 sockets, Voltrun with 2,592, Wat with 2,336, and Eşarj with 2,081 sockets.
