Mollakara Gold Mine Commences Operations in Ağrı
The Mollakara Gold Mine facility, which started operations in Ağrı, plans to produce 17 tons of gold in the first five years.
Opened in Ağrı with the participation of Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz, the Mollakara Gold Mine facility was brought to life with an investment of 250 million dollars.
Investment and Production Targets
A total investment of 250 million dollars was made for the Mollakara Gold Mine facility, which was established and officially opened in Ağrı.
According to official statements, it is targeted to produce a total of 17 tons of gold within the first five-year period in the new mining area.
Employment and Economic Contribution
It was reported that a total of 337 people will be employed at the facility that started operations, thus making a significant contribution to the regional economy.
While it was pointed out that the mining sector is one of the highest value-added export areas, it was noted that the new facility will increase Turkey's total gold production by 10 percent.
Opening Ceremony and Attendees
Savings Deposit Insurance Fund President Fatin Rüştü Karakaş presented a gift to Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz at the opening ceremony.
Following the pressing of the opening button, the first blasting was carried out in the ore field and the gold pouring process was officially initiated.
Governor Önder Bozkurt, AK Party Ağrı Deputy Ruken Kilerci, Turkish Gold Enterprises Chairman of the Board Cahit Tokmak, and protocol members attended the organized ceremony.
