NSA Deputy Director Tim Kosiba shared these strategic plans with the public at an Intelligence and National Security event held in Bethesda, Maryland.

Kosiba stated that the agency wants to access all models and that this situation will provide advantages in security and development processes.

Access Methods and Security Testing

The access process in question could be carried out through various methods, such as using models via services under a company's own control, or deploying a version into a government environment.

Additionally, this access could be provided to institutions for the purpose of conducting security tests on classified networks.

June Presidential Executive Order

Pursuant to an executive order enacted in June, the NSA was tasked with determining which AI systems qualify as frontier models within the scope.

Under this voluntary regulation, developers are expected to make their AIs available for federal government access thirty days before releasing them to the public.
