Temperatures dropping across Turkey: A cool wave is coming from Russia

While the summer period of 2026 goes down in records as one of the hottest periods of recent years, the rising temperatures and high humidity rates in the last days of August have quite overwhelmed citizens.

New Weather Wave Over Russia

According to assessments shared by Hava Forum on its official social media account, it was reported that a new cool and rainy weather wave will enter from the northern parts of the country.

Effective Starting Thursday Night

This new system, expected to head towards Turkish territory via Russia, is projected to create a noticeable change in weather conditions, especially starting Thursday night.

A Five-Degree Drop in Temperatures

With the incoming cool air wave, it is estimated that more comforting and refreshing weather conditions will prevail in regions that have experienced extreme heat in recent days.

With the contribution of north-easterly poyraz winds, air temperatures are expected to drop suddenly by 5 to 6 degrees across the country.
