Through the MORPHEUS project under Horizon Europe, in which Bursa Technical University is a partner, next-generation biosensor technology is being developed to allow patients' health data to be tracked via a single wearable, flexible platform instead of numerous cables.

International MORPHEUS Project

Bursa Technical University has become one of the 14 international partners of the MORPHEUS project, supported under the European Union's research and innovation program, Horizon Europe.

Project Team and Coordinators

Prof. Dr. Ayşe Bedeloğlu, a faculty member in the Polymer Materials Engineering Department, is leading the activities of the four-year project at BTÜ.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yasin Altın and Assist. Prof. Dr. Ömer Faruk Ünsal from BTÜ, along with Prof. Dr. İsmet Kaya from Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, are serving as researchers in the project.

The coordination of the project is undertaken by Prof. Dr. Teresa Gatti, a faculty member from Politecnico di Torino.

New Era in Health Monitoring

The numerous sensors and cables used for patients in intensive care or requiring continuous monitoring restrict patients' movements and complicate processes.

With the MORPHEUS Project, it is aimed to bring these different sensors together on a single flexible and wearable platform to monitor health data without interruption.

Eco-Friendly and Flexible Material

BTÜ's primary task in the project will be to develop a special polymer material that will form the basis of the biosensor platform.

Produced using bio-based raw materials instead of ready-made plastics, the material will be designed to be flexible, durable, and compatible with the human body.
