Iranian President Pezeshkian Calls for Regional Unity Among Muslim Countries

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian called for Muslim countries to form a stronger alliance and for U.S. forces to leave the region to ensure stability, during a meeting in Tehran with Faik Zeydan, the head of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council.

Critical Meeting Held in Tehran

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian received Faik Zeydan, head of Iraq's Supreme Judicial Council, and his accompanying delegation in the capital Tehran. Regional security and cooperation issues were discussed during the meeting.

Emphasis on Unity for Muslim Countries

Stating that the region's wealth is being exploited by foreign powers through conflicts, Pezeshkian expressed that Muslim countries need to strengthen cultural, commercial, and political ties.

The Iranian leader stated that this unity would pave the way for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from the region and establish a lasting security model.

Relations with Iraq and Security Cooperation

Iraqi official Faik Zeydan praised Iran's role in the fight against terrorism and stated that joint security steps would contribute greatly to regional development. Zeydan expressed that the Baghdad administration is ready to deepen economic ties with Iran.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf also stated that Iran does not interfere in Iraq's internal affairs and that a comprehensive security memorandum of understanding has been signed between the two countries.

Baghdad's Sovereignty and Regional Stance

Iraqi official Nizar Amidi emphasized that his country will not allow its territory to be used for attacks against any other nation. Amidi stated that Iraq remains determined to protect its national interests.
