A new era begins in support policies for the Turkish TV series sector
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced that a new era has entered in support policies for Turkish TV series and that supports will be evaluated on an episode-by-episode basis.
Gathered at an international media program in Istanbul, officials stated that Turkish TV series have reached 1 billion people in nearly 170 countries and shared the new support model for the TV series sector with the public.
International Media Program
The Global Narrative of the Turkey Brand: Turkish TV Series International Media Program held in Istanbul brought the sector together.
The opening speeches of the program were made by Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Communications Director Burhanettin Duran.

It was reported that approximately 1 billion people worldwide watch Turkish TV series and that the productions are broadcast in nearly 170 countries.
It was stated that Turkey is one of the world's leading countries in TV series exports and this situation increases its tourism potential.
New Support Policies
Significant flexibilities and new criteria have been introduced in the support system to be carried out through the General Directorate of Cinema.
It was announced that the condition of having been broadcast for one season has been removed and supports will now be evaluated on an episode basis.
Digital Data and Criteria
It was noted that in the new period, digital viewing data will be taken into account alongside television ratings.
In addition to the export performance of the productions, the contribution they make to Turkey's promotion and the international visibility of the Turkish language will be considered.
Change in Export Volume
It was stated that TV series exports, which were around 10 million dollars at the beginning of the 2000s, have reached a volume exceeding 1 billion dollars today.
It was emphasized that this large volume achieved increases Turkey's global narrative power and strategic capacity.
