Former Twitter engineers announce AI startup Radar
Particle has introduced the Radar search engine, which transcribes podcast audio recordings, interprets them, and makes them available for use by AI agents.
Particle, an AI news reader startup founded by former Twitter engineers, has unveiled a new podcast search engine called Radar that indexes and enables searching of speech within podcast content.
Particle launched Radar on Wednesday, a tool capable of not only converting podcast audio into text but also understanding the content to surface key quotes and highlights. Co-founder and CEO Sara Beykpour noted that this solution has already drawn interest from hedge funds needing data that current agents cannot reach.
Sara Beykpour stated that hedge funds are the highest-volume customers utilizing direct API integration. Along with journalists and researchers, other top-tier paying customers include AI search platforms and data resellers. Search API providers for AI agents, such as Exa, are also among Radar's partners. The idea sprang from a popular feature in the Particle news-reading app that uses podcast clips as sources.
