US President Donald Trump has appointed Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton as the artificial intelligence czar heading a new White House task force established to investigate risks in the field of artificial intelligence and coordinate federal government contacts.
New Task Force and Leadership
US President Donald Trump appointed Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton as the new White House artificial intelligence czar. Clayton will conduct research on the risks and opportunities of artificial intelligence and provide advice regarding the responsibilities of the federal government.
President Trump preferred the term Super Intelligence Force instead of the term artificial intelligence, while bringing an experienced figure to lead this newly established structure.
Duration of Work and Reporting
The newly established task force will operate for a period of 120 days and complete its work within this timeframe.
Following its activities, the group will report directly to President Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.
Scope of the Task Force
The established task force will hold contacts with consumers, public interest groups, religious organizations, and critical infrastructure providers.
At the same time, the coordination of relations and communications between super intelligence companies and the federal government will be ensured.
Task Force Members
Other names in the administrative cadre of this special group, to be led by Jay Clayton, have also been clarified.
It was officially announced that the task force includes figures such as Andrew Ferguson, Emil Michael, and Scott Kupor.
