37th Aphrodisias Culture, Art and Promotion Festival Starts with Cortège in Karacasu, Aydın
The festival held in Karacasu, Aydın began with a cortège walk accompanied by a mehter band. The giant pita, which attracted great interest during the event, was cut by the protocol.
The thirty-seventh Aphrodisias Culture, Art and Promotion Festival, organized this year in the Karacasu district of Aydın, opened its doors with an enthusiastic cortège walk. Local flavors were promoted at the opening of the five-day organization.
Opening with the Cortège Walk
The traditional festival, held for the thirty-seventh time this year in Karacasu, Aydın, officially began in the evening with a cortège walk accompanied by a mehter band.
Protocol and Participants
Following the walk from in front of the municipality to Cumhuriyet Square, an official ceremony was held. District administrators, members of parliament, mayors, and numerous citizens attended the ceremony.
Giant Pita Attracts Great Interest
Prepared by a local pita maker from Karacasu, the fourteen meter and seventy centimeter long giant pita was carried on shoulders throughout the cortège, attracting great interest from the participants.
Opening Speeches and Events
The program began with a moment of silence and the singing of the Independence March, followed by speeches from the protocol. District Governor İsmail Battal drew attention to the importance of the Ancient City of Aphrodisias.
Treats and Visits to Stands
Following the speeches, the giant pita was cut by the protocol members and served to the guests. After the ceremony, the district promotion stands were visited one by one.
