Karacasu Aphrodisias Culture, Art and Promotion Festival Begins
The 37th festival held in Aydın started with a Mehter marching band procession, while a giant pita bread carried on shoulders drew great attention.
Opening its doors for the 37th time this year in the Karacasu district of Aydın, the Aphrodisias Culture, Art and Promotion Festival kicked off with an enthusiastic cortege walk accompanied by a Mehter marching band.
Start of the Festival and Procession
Traditional culture and art events in Karacasu, Aydın, officially began in the evening with a cortege walk accompanied by a Mehter band. Protocol members and numerous citizens attended the opening ceremony of the five-day organization.
Giant Pita Bread Draws Great Interest
Prepared by a local Karacasu pita baker and extended every year, reaching 14 meters and 70 centimeters this year, the giant pita became the most eye-catching element of the cortege walk. Carried on shoulders, this special pita won the appreciation of the citizens.
Protocol Speeches and Opening
Following the march from in front of the municipality to Cumhuriyet Square, a moment of silence was observed and the National Anthem was sung. District Governor İsmail Battal drew attention to the critical role of festivals in promoting social, cultural, and historical values.
Treats and Visits to Stands
After the speeches, the 14-meter-70-centimeter-long giant pita was cut by protocol members and served to the guests. As the program continued, the promotion stands in the area were visited one by one.
