The 20th TÜRKSOY Photographers Gathering Held in Hungary
The 20th TÜRKSOY Photographers Gathering, held in Hungary with the participation of photographers from the Turkic world, has concluded.
Mehmet Gökyiğit and Giray Karahasan represented the TRNC at the 20th TÜRKSOY Photographers Gathering, organized in Hungary by the International Organization of Turkic Culture.
Details of the Photographers Gathering
The 20th TÜRKSOY Photographers Gathering, organized by the International Organization of Turkic Culture, took place in Hungary between August 12 and 22. Thirteen photographers from various countries and regions of the Turkic world participated in this important gathering, where the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus was represented by photography artists Mehmet Gökyiğit and Giray Karahasan.
Field Studies and Visited Regions
As part of the program, photographers captured the country's historical and cultural heritage during field studies conducted in different regions of Hungary. Throughout the gathering, visits were made to Budapest, Pannonhalma, Kalocsa, Hortobágy, and Hollókő, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Documentation of Cultural Values
Within the framework of the event, the Great Hun-Turk Kurultai held in the Bugac region on August 15 was also documented through photographs. These efforts made a significant contribution to the visual archive regarding the shared cultural values of the Turkic world.
Concluded with the Jubilee Exhibition
At the end of the program, the works produced were presented to art enthusiasts through a Jubilee Exhibition held at the Budapest Art Bridge Gallery. Visitors had the opportunity to examine frames reflecting the cultural diversity of Hungary at the exhibition.
