In meetings held in cooperation with the Eskişehir Chamber of Industry and the economic press, the sectoral agenda and common problems of industrialists were discussed. Stating that producers have done more than their share, officials pointed out that economic policies are straining the production sector.

Expanded Professional Group Meetings

Six separate sessions were held at the meetings organized to develop solutions to the common problems of Eskişehir industry. The agenda of production branches ranging from mining to food, and from plastics and chemistry to metal processing was addressed.

Many experts and writers from the economic world attended the meetings and evaluated key topics such as global transformation and inflation.

Emphasis on Sectoral Problems and Inflation

The president of the chamber of industry stated that producers are carrying out important work in areas such as efficiency and digitalization, but current economic policies negatively affect the sector.

Drawing attention to the inflation difference between basic goods, food, and the service sector, it was emphasized that the same economic treatment cannot be applied to areas harboring different problems.

Long-Term Resources and Trade with China

It was stated that the public sector must provide long-term and cost-effective financing for the growth of Eskişehir's industry. In addition, attention was drawn to the imbalance experienced in foreign trade with China.

It was expressed that for every unit of product Turkey exports to China, it imports at high rates, which poses a serious threat to industry.

Financing Bottleneck in the Mining Sector

In the mining session, it was voiced that reserves cannot be shown as collateral to banks and major difficulties are experienced in accessing credit.

It was emphasized by the participants that the economic value of mineral reserves must find a counterpart in the financing system.

Added Value and Qualified Labor Force

It was conveyed that if minerals are transformed into high-tech products instead of being exported as raw materials, a massive economic potential would be created.

In the metal industry session, attention was drawn to the shortage of qualified labor, and it was noted that vocational high schools need to be placed at the center of the production system.
