German exporters' optimism at highest level since February 2022

According to the monthly survey results published by the Ifo Institute, German exporters' expectations for the coming period reached the highest level seen since February 2022.
Four-and-a-Half-Year Peak in Export Expectations
According to the monthly survey data released by the Ifo Institute, the export expectations balance rose from minus 2.8 in July to 9.6, the highest level since February 2022.
Although the automotive industry is struggling with one of the most challenging crises in decades, the largest improvement recorded in over six years was achieved during this period.
Regional Differences and Economic Growth
Ifo economist Klaus Wohlrabe stated that the export sector is gaining momentum, noting that shipments to the European Union in particular are increasing rapidly, whereas stagnation in the Chinese market continues.
According to official data released on Tuesday, thanks to the strong export performance, the German economy demonstrated a growth performance in the second quarter of the year above initial estimates.
