KARADENİZBİRLİK Targets Purchasing 35 Thousand Tons of Sunflower in the 2026 Season
Providing 122 million liras of in-kind and cash support to its producer partners in the new season, KARADENİZBİRLİK has officially launched its purchasing campaign.
The Black Sea Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union announced that it has started sunflower purchases for 2026, targeting approximately 35 thousand tons of product procurement and providing 122 million liras in support to producers in the new season.
New Season Purchases Have Begun
The Black Sea Oil Seeds Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union announced that it has officially started its 2026 sunflower purchasing activities, taking its place in the market. Along with these purchases, the aim is to accelerate oil production and increase output in line with demands.
Support Provided to Producers
The union management emphasized that services and support for producers continue despite limited resources. In this context, a total of 122 million liras in in-kind and cash support was provided to producer partners prior to the 2026 crop purchases.
Yield and Price Expectations
Stating that weather conditions have been much better compared to last year, officials noted that the drought experienced last year is not present this season. While this situation is expected to increase the yield, it was stated that the best price that will not victimize the producer will be applied within the framework of market conditions.
Targeted Product Volume and Centers
Product purchases are ongoing across 12 cooperatives and purchasing centers in Samsun, Çorum, Amasya, Tokat, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, and the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions. A total of approximately 35 thousand tons of product procurement is projected for the new season.
