Trade Minister Ömer Bolat in Aleppo: Turkey-Syria Trade Relations and Reconstruction Addressed

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat visited the city of Aleppo in Syria and met with industrialists and business people. Within the scope of the visit, the strengthening of economic relations between Turkey and Syria and the reconstruction of Aleppo were discussed in detail.

Visit to the Sheikh Najar Industrial Zone

Trade Minister Ömer Bolat began his contacts in Aleppo by visiting the Sheikh Najar Industrial Zone. Meeting with industrialists and business people here, Bolat received comprehensive information about production activities, industrial infrastructure, and current trade opportunities in the region.

Stating that Aleppo is a critical center in reviving the Syrian economy, Minister Bolat expressed that developing commercial relations between the two countries will contribute to regional prosperity.

Steps for Economic Development and Cooperation

The talks focused on the importance of steps that can be taken in the fields of production, investment, and export. Minister Bolat emphasized the importance of restarting production facilities, increasing employment, and strengthening trade routes for the development of Aleppo.

Noting that relations between Turkey and Aleppo are not limited to economic ties alone, Bolat stated that kinship, neighborliness, and shared cultural bonds spanning approximately a thousand years continue between the two societies.

Roundtable Meeting with Business People

Following his inspections at the Industrial Zone, Minister Bolat participated in a roundtable meeting held with the participation of Turkish and Syrian business people. At the meeting, mutual commercial relations as well as the current economic situation of Aleppo were addressed.

Participants evaluated concrete steps and cooperation opportunities that can be taken towards the reconstruction of the city and the development of industrial and commercial infrastructure.
