According to international trade data for the second quarter of 2026 shared by the European Statistical Office, Turkey positioned itself among the top five countries with which the European Union conducts the most imports and exports.

The European Statistical Office shared official data regarding the European Union's international trade in the second quarter of 2026 with the public.
According to the released data, the Union realized a total of 701.8 billion euros in goods imports from non-member countries during the period in question.
Import and Export Growth Rates
It was observed that there was a significant increase in the European Union's foreign trade volume compared to the same period of last year.
Exports to non-Union countries increased by 4.5 percent to reach 680 billion euros, while imports showed an increase of 11.7 percent.
Countries Prominent in Imports
In the ranking of countries from which the European Union imports the most, China ranked first with 153.6 billion euros.
China was followed respectively by the United States, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Turkey.
Turkey's Place in Imports
The amount of imports realized by the European Union from Turkey was recorded as 25.5 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026.
With this figure, Turkey positioned itself as the fifth country from which the European Union imports the most.
Leading Markets in Exports
The country to which the European Union exports the most was the United States with a value of 127.7 billion euros.
Following this country, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and China were determined as the other countries occupying the ranking.
Exports to Turkey
Total exports made from European Union countries to Turkey materialized at the level of 27.3 billion euros.
In line with this obtained data, Turkey maintained its status as the fifth trading partner to which the European Union exports the most.
Total Trade Volume
With the clarification of mutual trade data, the economic ties between Turkey and the European Union were once again registered.
The total trade volume between the two sides reached the level of 52.8 billion euros in the second quarter of 2026.
