Hong Kong Financial Regulators Launch Expanded Artificial Intelligence Testing Program
Financial authorities in Hong Kong have selected 36 use cases spanning banking, insurance, and investment to test autonomous artificial intelligence systems.
Hong Kong's financial regulators have identified the first group of projects for the expanded GenAI Sandbox++ program aimed at testing the use of autonomous AI agents in the financial sector.
Expanded Sandbox++ Program
A total of 36 use cases have been selected for the first cohort of the expanded GenAI Sandbox++ program, according to a joint statement by Hong Kong's four financial regulators.
Participating Institutions and Partners
The selected projects involve 30 financial institutions and 27 technology partners, with prominent names such as Ant Bank, WeChat Pay, and HSBC Life among the participants.
Technical Trials and Infrastructure
Technical trials are expected to begin later this year on a platform managed by Cyberport's AI Supercomputing Centre.
Autonomous AI Focus
The first cohort will focus on autonomous artificial intelligence technologies, which are systems capable of executing tasks and making decisions with a higher degree of autonomy.
