According to a conducted study, Meta halted its project aiming to replace 60 percent of employees in certain teams with artificial intelligence at the last minute due to security and reliability concerns.
Project OT and AI Transformation
Meta had planned to implement the Project OT initiative, named Organizational Transformation, with the goal of making the company entirely AI-driven. Within this scope, it was targeted to drastically reduce the employee ratio in certain teams.
Efficiency and Reliability Issues
Reviews showed that code changes on internal platforms increased, but user-facing features did not increase at the same rate. Additionally, there was a noticeable rise in technical and security incidents.
Employee Reactions and Loss of Morale
The company made the installation of tracking software mandatory on employees' devices, which led to internal unrest. Although various social amenities were offered to address the drop in morale, concerns could not be resolved.
