OpenAI and the Government of Thailand Launch Acceleration Program for AI Startups

OpenAI and Thailand's Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation (MHESI) have launched the "OpenAI x MHESI AI Accelerator" program, designed to help AI startups in the country transform their prototypes into real products. Based in Bangkok, this program marks OpenAI's first public-private partnership with the Thai government.

Scope of the Program and Participating Startups

Ten Thai startups operating in the fields of healthcare, wellness, and education are participating in the eight-week acceleration program. The program features medicine and wellness-focused CARIVA, Wello Food, Dietz, Precisionize, and FitSloth, along with education-focused Curico, insKru, Floaino, EasyKids Robotics, and Globish.

Support and Collaborations to Be Provided

OpenAI will provide each participating team with $2,000 in API credits, one-on-one technical guidance, and access to its latest frontier models. Additionally, each startup will be paired with a dedicated mentor throughout the program.

As another partner of the program, MHESI will connect startups with research and talent networks, while the National Innovation Agency (NIA) will provide access to funding and the growth ecosystem. Mahidol University will contribute academic expertise and mentorship support.

AI Adoption in Thailand and Demo Day

Thailand ranks among the top 20 countries globally in terms of weekly active ChatGPT users. The usage of Codex in the country has increased more than 350-fold since the beginning of 2026.

Supported in partnership with Techsauce, the program will conclude with a Demo Day to be held in Bangkok in November. At this event, startups will showcase the products they have developed and present their scaling plans.
