OpenAI has announced that it will start displaying ads on ChatGPT's Free and Go subscription tiers in India. Initially launching with 50 brands, the company will collaborate with agencies WPP and Omnicom for this process.
New Era in the Indian Market
OpenAI announced on Thursday that it will start showing ads on the Free and Go subscription tiers of ChatGPT.
According to an announcement made in February, there are more than 100 million weekly active ChatGPT users in India, and the vast majority use these packages.
Brand and Agency Collaborations
The company stated on Wednesday that the process will initially kick off with ads from 50 brands, and that it has partnered with agencies WPP and Omnicom.
Marketers will be able to create campaigns thanks to the ad manager launching next month.
Budget Details and Statements
Marketers will be required to set aside a minimum daily budget of 725 rupees for their campaigns.
OpenAI Global Head of Advertising Solutions Dave Dugan stated that businesses can promote themselves in relevant and high-context moments.
Moves to Strengthen Revenue Streams
Preparing for a potential initial public offering, OpenAI continues its efforts to increase and secure its revenue streams.
The AI lab was reported to have recorded $6.7 billion in revenue in the second quarter ending in June 2026.
