Comprehensive Health Checkup Against Aging Population in Vietnam
Free healthcare services were provided to more than a thousand elderly people in Ho Chi Minh City through a partnership between the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and Abbott.
With the extension of the average life expectancy of the Vietnamese people and the increasing rate of the aging population, proactive health screenings and consultation programs for elderly individuals in the country have been implemented.
Aging Population and Healthcare Need
The extension of the average life expectancy of the Vietnamese people increases the daily need for proactive and comprehensive healthcare services for the elderly.
The country entered the aging population phase in 2011, and it is projected that more than 20 percent of its population will be over 60 years old by 2036.
Free Health Screening in Ho Chi Minh City
Within the framework of the initiative organized in collaboration with the Vietnam Young Physicians Association and Abbott, health checkups were provided to more than a thousand elderly people in Ho Chi Minh City.
Carried out on the occasion of Vu Lan, this organization aimed to improve the health quality of elderly individuals and promote the widespread adoption of early-stage checkups.
Emphasis on Proper Nutrition and Exercise from Experts
Dr. Hoang Thi Viet Ha, an internal medicine specialist working at Gia Dinh People's Hospital, conveyed the importance of proper nutrition, regular exercise, and checkups partecipanti.
Expert figures explained to the participants that proactive health management plays a critical role in preserving the quality of life of elderly individuals.

Dinh Hong Ngoc, Director of Communications and External Relations at Abbott Vietnam, stated that they contribute to older adults living a healthier life.
Thanks to the activities implemented in Hanoi since the beginning of the year and the nationwide programs, it is targeted to reach thousands of people.
