With the Social Security Institution Health Implementation Communique published in the Official Gazette, family physicians were granted the authority to prescribe Leflunomide, certain medications were included in the reimbursement scope, and report periods were extended.

It was reported that new steps strengthening the health system have been taken with the Communique on Amending the Social Security Institution Health Implementation Communique published in the Official Gazette.
New Authority for Family Physicians
Within the framework of recent regulations, family physicians working in primary healthcare services have been officially granted the authority to prescribe medications containing the active ingredient Leflunomide.
Report Periods Extended
In line with new decisions in the health field, report periods for enteral nutrition products of patients with neurological disorders have been increased to one year.
Magistral Medication Support Increased
A forty percent increase was realized in the institutional support rate provided for magistral medications specially prepared for patients in pharmacies.
New Medications Within Reimbursement Scope
As a result of the updates, two hemophilia B medications and one cancer medication were included in the reimbursement scope by the Social Security Institution.
Surgical Procedures Regulated
Surgical procedures with a high degree of difficulty performed by pediatric surgery specialists were also included in the payment scope with the new regulation.
