Healthcare Professionals Examined Organic Farming Processes in the Field in Izmir
Health professionals visiting the production area in Kemalpaşa, Izmir, observed certified organic farming practices on-site and met with producers.
Bringing together healthcare professionals within the framework of an event organized in Izmir, participants had the opportunity to examine agricultural processes on-site by visiting organic production areas in Kemalpaşa.
Field Visit in Pursuit of Organic Agriculture
The "From Market to Field: In Pursuit of Organic Agriculture" event was implemented within the body of the Izmir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry and under the coordination of the Karşıyaka District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry.
During the program, which was attended by physicians, dietitians, and healthcare workers from various branches, the fundamental principles of certified organic production were conveyed to the participants.
Production Processes and Harvest Experience
Within the scope of the program, the production area of organic producer Muzaffer Kul was visited, and detailed information regarding inspection and traceability practices was provided on-site.
Participants toured the garden, directly participated in the organic produce harvest, and engaged in one-on-one experience and information sharing with the producer.
Goal of Awareness and Accurate Information
With this organized event, it was aimed for healthcare professionals to observe organic farming not just at a theoretical level, but directly in the production field.
At the same time, it was aimed to create social awareness regarding the delivery of accurate information to the consumer.
