New Communique from the Ministry of Health: Leflunomide Authority for Family Physicians
With the communique amendment published in the Official Gazette, the authorities of family physicians were expanded, certain new drugs were added to the reimbursement list, and prescription report durations were extended.
Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu announced that family physicians have been granted the authority to prescribe Leflunomide through an amendment to the SSI Health Implementation Communique published in the Official Gazette, and that the validity periods of health reports for enteral nutrition products of neurological patients have been extended to 1 year.
Authorities of Family Physicians Expanded
The Communique on Amending the Social Security Institution Health Implementation Communique has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. With this update, family physicians working in primary care health services were granted the authority to prescribe the active ingredient Leflunomide.
Report Durations Extended for Neurological Patients
Important steps that will make life easier for patients and their families were taken within the scope of the new regulation. The validity period of health reports issued for enteral nutrition products for patients with neurological disorders was increased to 1 year.
Drugs Added to the Reimbursement Scope
In statements made by Minister of Health Kemal Memişoğlu, new supports for medication and treatment services were also shared. Within this scope, 2 hemophilia B drugs and 1 cancer drug were included in the Social Security Institution reimbursement list.
Magistral Drug Support and Surgical Procedures
The financial support rate provided for magistral drugs custom-prepared for patients in pharmacies was increased by 40 percent. In addition, high-difficulty surgical procedures performed by pediatric surgery specialists were also included in the payment scope.
