Intense data marathon begins on the economic agenda
While markets focus on second-quarter growth figures, critical economic indicators to be announced throughout September will be closely followed.
As the summer months are left behind and the economic agenda gains momentum, all eyes have turned to the second-quarter growth data to be announced on August 31 and critical economic indicators to be released consecutively throughout September.
Second-quarter growth data being announced
Gross Domestic Product figures for the April-June period, which are the primary focus of the markets, will be announced by TÜİK at 10:00.
The Turkish economy had recorded a growth of 2.5 percent in the first quarter of the year. According to AA Finance survey expectations, GDP is expected to increase by 2.80 percent in the second quarter.
Labor force and foreign trade data will be monitored
TÜİK will also share the labor force statistics for July with the public on the same day, and this data will provide information on the state of the labor market.
Provisional foreign trade data for August is planned to be announced by the Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Exporters Assembly on Thursday, September 3.
August inflation figures to be announced
TÜİK will announce the August inflation figures to the public on Thursday, September 3 at 10:00, and the course of price increases will become clear.
The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.78 percent on a monthly basis in July, and the Domestic Producer Price Index increased by 1.52 percent.
Investment instruments and industrial production
The institution will share the real return rates of financial investment instruments for August with the public on September 8.
The industrial production index data for July will be another important economic indicator to be followed on September 10.
Central Bank interest rate decision and balance of payments
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey Monetary Policy Committee will convene on September 10 to announce its interest rate decision to the public.
The Central Bank will also officially announce the balance of payments data for July on September 11.
Budget realizations and house sales
Central government budget realizations for August will be declared by the Ministry of Treasury and Finance on September 15.
TÜİK will announce the housing and workplace sales statistics for August on September 17, revealing the activity in the real estate market.
