Istanbul Park to Host Formula 1 Races Between 2027 and 2031
With a five-year agreement, the Turkish Grand Prix is rejoining the FIA Formula 1 World Championship calendar starting from the 2027 season.
According to the statement made by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Istanbul Park will host the Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix from 2027 until the end of the 2031 season under a five-year agreement.
Critical Meeting Held Between Ministries
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak came together at the Atatürk Cultural Center.
During this meeting, the preparation process for the Turkish Grand Prix, which will be held at Istanbul Park starting from the 2027 season, was discussed in detail.
Preparation Process and Inter-Institutional Coordination Addressed
During the meeting, coordination among the institutions that will take part in the organization, as well as national and international promotion efforts, were evaluated.
Steps to be taken in the upcoming period were discussed in detail, and plans were made to ensure the highest standards.
Wide-Participation Consultation Meeting Held
General managers of the relevant ministries, heads of organizations, and executives of the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) participated in the meeting.
The delegation, which included the federation president and general secretary, reviewed the ongoing work for the flawless progression of the organization.
Turkey's Formula 1 History and the New Calendar
Turkey had previously successfully hosted Formula 1 races between 2005-2011 and 2020-2021.
With the new official five-year agreement, the Turkish Grand Prix will once again take its place in the world championship calendar between 2027 and 2031.
