In the incident that took place on Çolak Molla Mümin Hoca Street in Izmir's Gaziemir district, gym operator and 2016 MMA Turkey champion Hasan Başar was subjected to an armed attack while sitting in front of his business. Başar, who is married and the father of one child, became the target of two individuals arriving on a motorcycle while sitting alongside a 13-year-old gym member.

One of the two helmeted individuals arriving on a motorcycle fired two shots toward Hasan Başar. While one of the bullets hit Başar's right leg, the child next to him escaped the incident uninjured. The suspects rapidly fled the scene on the motorcycle following the attack.

Hospital Process

Hasan Başar, who was taken to Gaziemir Nevvar Salih İşgören State Hospital by his relatives in a private car following the attack, was transferred by ambulance to Dokuz Eylül University Hospital after initial intervention there. The athlete has been discharged after completing his treatment.
