Defeating Germany 3-1 in their fourth match at the European Championship, the national team continues its flawless run in the group and guarantees a spot in the round of 16.
Competing in Group A of the Trendyol 2026 European Championship, the Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team defeated Germany 3-1 in their fourth match, achieving four wins out of four and maintaining their contention in the group.
Beginning of the Match and the First Set
Starting with alternating points in the first set, the crescent-stars opened up a lead during Vargas's effective service run, forcing the opponent to call a timeout.
Although Germany tried to stay in the set with Alsmeier, the national team, making efficient use of their middle blockers, finished the first set ahead at 25-21.
Germany Equalizes in the Second Set
While Germany was the side that started the second set well, Turkey leveled the score in this phase with points from Vargas.
Being effective with Grozer in the dying moments of the set, the German team brought the score to 1-1 with a 27-25 result.
Control Returns to the Nationals in the Third Set
Entering the third set quickly, the crescent-starred team regained dominance in the match through the offensive performances of Vargas and Hande Baladın.
Winning this set 25-20, the nationals brought the match score to 2-1.
Victory in the Fourth Set
Starting the fourth set with spikes from Saliha Şahin, Turkey widened the point gap with blocks by Deniz Uyanık.
Taking the support of the packed arena behind them, the national team won the set 25-19 and the match 3-1.
High Interest from the Protocol and Current Status
The challenging match played at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall was followed by Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Aşkın Bak along with federation officials and figures from the sports community.
Having guaranteed qualification for the round of 16, the Turkish Women's National Volleyball Team will face Poland in their fifth and final group stage match.
