20 Teams to Compete in the FPV Drone Tracking Competition Finals

Following the evaluations in the FPV Drone Tracking Competition, 20 teams and 167 competitors have made it to the finals. The teams competing in the four-day final stage will autonomously track a moving target drone to win a share of the total prize pool of 750,000 liras.

Final Process and Maneuver Requirements

During the four-day final stage, each team will be granted a total of four competition and trial attempts, with one attempt per day. Teams will attempt to detect and autonomously track the target drone, which performs 11 different maneuvers, using image processing technologies.

Performance evaluation will be based on real-time video transmission, autonomous flight capability, and the successful completion of maneuver stations. Teams wishing to qualify for the prize rankings are required to successfully complete the first four maneuvers autonomously.

Scoring Criteria and Application Structure

The overall scoring of the competition consists of 25 percent from report and video evaluations, and 75 percent from the mission performance demonstrated in the field. The Preliminary Design Report, Critical Design Report, Method Introduction, and Flight Proof Video constitute the main steps of the process.

In the competition, which includes university students, graduates, and private sector representatives from Turkey and abroad, teams consist of a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 10 people, including an advisor. Each team is required to have a team captain and a pilot.

A Total of 750 Thousand Liras in Prizes Will Be Distributed

As a result of the evaluations, a total prize of 750,000 TL will be distributed, with 300,000 TL for the first-place team, 250,000 TL for the second, and 200,000 TL for the third. The competition aims to test autonomous flight and target detection solutions under real-world conditions.
