The Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) will hold its 9th Congress in the capital Hanoi on August 27-28, 2026. At the congress, 489 delegates representing more than 2.2 million science and technology intellectuals will gather to discuss the union's digital transformation goals and new-term strategies.

Congress Agenda and Participants

The 9th Congress of the Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations (VUSTA) is being held in Hanoi with the participation of 489 official delegates representing the science and technology intellectual community and member organizations within the system. The congress is seen as an important milestone in the country's new development phase focused on science, technology, and innovation.

VUSTA's Organizational Structure and Role

With a history of over forty years, VUSTA currently incorporates 34 provincial and municipal associations, 92 national sector associations, and 575 science and technology organizations. Bringing together more than 2.2 million science and technology intellectuals across the country, the union serves as a bridge between the intellectual community and state agencies.

Active Advisory Approach in the New Term

The union's goals for the 2026-2031 term include innovating advisory, consultation, and social evaluation activities. Moving from a passive approach to an active model, VUSTA aims to provide scientific arguments for policy planning through big data and empirical models. In this context, direct policy dialogue forums with leaders are planned to be organized.

VUSTA Digital Ecosystem and Artificial Intelligence

In line with digital transformation goals, the "VUSTA Digital" ecosystem will be implemented. This ecosystem will include an identity verification platform, an AI-powered Knowledge Center, an E-Advisory platform, and an e-Office electronic office system. Thus, it aims to increase the efficiency of scientific research and strengthen inter-institutional collaborations.

Digitalization will also be pursued in knowledge dissemination activities, utilizing podcasts, short videos, and artificial intelligence technologies. This aims to increase the digital literacy of the masses and make scientific knowledge more easily accessible to society.
