Apple has added new evidence to the legal proceedings regarding the post-employment activities of its former employee, Chang Liu. These developments came to light after Liu's former work computer was handed over for examination as part of the investigation.

Confidential Circuit Diagrams and Allegations of Evidence Destruction

According to Apple's claims, Liu used a confidential Apple circuit diagram and a tool sharing the same name as the company's internal engineering application in his work at OpenAI. Furthermore, Apple alleged that after learning he was under investigation, Liu asked a colleague at OpenAI for help to destroy evidence.

The Parties' Defenses and Access Disputes

OpenAI had previously argued that Liu accessed the files after leaving the company in order to help former colleagues. Apple, however, claims that this access was sustained by exploiting a rare authentication error and that OpenAI was aware of the situation.

Requested Measures and Legal Process

During the lawsuit, Apple is requesting a preliminary injunction to prevent OpenAI from working on hardware based on the company's technology, as well as an expedited evidence discovery process.
