Digital Technology Sector Revenue Increases by Thirty-Six Percent
At its August 2026 press conference, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced a significant rise in digital technology revenues and export turnover.
According to data released at a regular press conference held by the Ministry of Science and Technology in Hanoi, the revenue of the country's digital technology sector surged by 36% compared to the same period last year, reaching 680,586 billion VND.

The financial performance of the sector was shared at the August 2026 regular press conference organized by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MST) in Hanoi. According to the information shared during the meeting, the revenue of the digital technology sector for August 2026 showed a 36% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
Export Turnover and Postal Services
It is estimated that the export turnover of digital technology products and goods recorded a 41% increase, reaching 22.4 billion USD. Meanwhile, postal service revenue is estimated at 9,260 billion VND, showing a 3% increase compared to the previous month and a 22% increase compared to the same period last year.
Science, Technology Enterprises, and Publications
There are a total of 968 science and technology enterprises and 20 science and technology exchange platforms operating nationwide. Additionally, the number of international publications indexed in the Scopus database reached 2,647 between July 15 and August 14, 2026.
Data Integration and Infrastructure Developments
The National Data Integration and Sharing Platform (NDXP) reached a total of 4.7 billion transactions, and 100% of local governments successfully established data connectivity through this platform. Furthermore, the number of active ".vn" domain names rose to 699,722, while the IPv6 adoption rate reached 66%.
Artificial Intelligence Network and Legal Regulations
The Global Network of Vietnamese Artificial Intelligence Experts was established under the Ministry of Science and Technology. The National Assembly unanimously approved amendments to certain articles of the Radio Frequency Law, Telecommunications Law, Electronic Transactions Law, and Technology Transfer Law.
