Politburo Reorganizes Function and Duty Regulations of the Science and Technology Committee

The Politburo has enacted the new Regulation No. 215-QĐ/TW, prepared to more effectively manage national science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation processes. This regulation restructures the functions, duties, powers, and inter-institutional working relationships of the relevant committee.

Scope and Structure of the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee for Science, Technology, Innovation, and Digital Transformation Development Center operates directly under the Politburo.

Under the leadership of the Politburo and the Secretariat, the Committee coordinates and oversees the implementation of breakthrough policies at the national level.

Tasks and Inter-Agency Coordination

The Steering Committee reviews mechanisms, policies, and laws across the entire political system and requests evaluations from competent authorities.

The Ministry of Public Security acts as the permanent agency of the committee, directly directing and coordinating activities.

Reporting Schedule and Working Relationships

The Steering Committee submits regular reports on its activities to the Politburo and the Secretariat semi-annually or upon request.

Relevant sectors, local governments, and institutions periodically transmit the results in their areas of responsibility to the permanent body.

Entry into Force and Previous Regulations

Entering into force upon its signing, the new regulation ensures that the unchanged provisions of the previous document numbered 230-QĐ/TW remain valid.

It is stated that the implementation of tasks assigned in the previous period will continue and reports will be submitted by the permanent agency when necessary.
