Establishment and vision of the Showbite brand
Korean film and content studio Showbox has officially announced the creation of Showbite, a new micro-drama brand aimed at delivering original short-form content. This new initiative aims to combine the studio's deep-rooted history of storytelling with the fast pace of short-form dramas.
Wide genre range and content diversity
Showbite's initial production lineup offers a rich content pool spanning diverse genres such as romance, comedy, revenge, action-thriller, period drama, fantasy, mystery, and horror.
The romance genre includes titles such as "Taste of You", an enemies-to-lovers story set in the culinary world, and "Love in Thailand", a romantic comedy set at a golf resort.
Female-centric revenge and action productions
Among the brand's female-centric revenge stories are notable projects like "The Fallen Heiress Returns Wicked", "They Messed with the Wrong Daughter-in-Law", and "Contract Marriage: The Heir’s Hound".
In the action and crime-thriller category, audiences will be presented with "Asura: Return of the Reaper".
Period dramas and fantasy projects
Standing out in this category are the Joseon-era period drama "The Secret Wife Exchange" and "Her Royal Queen Energy", a rebirth fantasy set in an alternate modern Korean monarchy.
Mystery, horror, and K-pop elements
Notable projects include the mystery comedy "Bridal Shower: The Missing Bride", "The Fallen Idol Is Possessed!" blending K-pop and supernatural elements, and "Lucky Horror Live Show", where a live broadcast features terrifying moments.
Global expansion and events
Starting in early September, Showbite will launch its official TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube accounts to establish a presence in the global market.
To expand its distribution network, the brand will participate in Broadcast Worldwide in Seoul and the Asian Contents & Film Market at the Busan International Film Festival to meet with domestic and international partners.
