Chinese markets are being revitalized by new IPO waves, driven by strong interest in artificial intelligence and other advanced technology fields. Companies are increasingly moving to list their shares, particularly on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges.
Shein's Hong Kong IPO
China-rooted e-commerce and fast-fashion giant Shein will begin trading on the stock exchange on Tuesday with a $1.7 billion IPO in Hong Kong. This move ranks among the city's largest new share sales of the year.
Rise of Chip Makers and Robotics Firms
In July, CXMT, China's largest memory chip maker, raised over $8.6 billion in Shanghai. In August, humanoid robot manufacturer Unitree completed its initial public offering on the Shanghai stock exchange.
Total IPO Volume on Exchanges
According to LSEG data, IPOs and secondary listings on the Hong Kong and Shanghai stock exchanges generated a total of over $54 billion in revenue during 2026. This figure surpassed the total of $46 billion recorded for the entirety of last year.
