Artificial Intelligence Negatively Impacts Young Workers' Employment in the US
According to Canaries Dashboard data, the employment of young workers in roles most affected by artificial intelligence in the US declined in August.
Recently released payroll data in the US reveals that the young workforce employed in occupational groups most exposed to artificial intelligence is significantly affected by this shift.
Decline Experienced in August
In August, a 4.4 percent year-over-year contraction was recorded in the employment rate of young workers aged 22 to 25 in positions most sensitive to artificial intelligence.
Continuous Contraction
This decline constitutes the latest link in a contraction trend that has continued steadily every month since October 2023, approximately one year after the launch of ChatGPT.
