Ban on Foreign Electric Vehicles in Defense Industry Campuses
It has been reported that foreign electric vehicles are not allowed into strategic facilities as part of security measures in the defense industry.
TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI) General Manager Mahmut Faruk Akşit drew attention to the security risks of artificial intelligence and connected devices, evaluating practices in the defense industry and announcing that foreign electric vehicles are not permitted in certain critical facilities.
Security Measures in Critical Facilities
TEI General Manager Mahmut Faruk Akşit announced that foreign electric vehicles are not admitted to ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, and TEI campuses.
It was stated that domestic vehicles are granted entry permission because the software and control belong entirely to the institutions themselves.
Artificial Intelligence and Security Risks
Stating that artificial intelligence develops through learning algorithms, Akşit expressed that these systems do not always yield correct and reliable results.
It was emphasized that systems can present non-existent information and sources as if they exist, and can also generate fabricated data in scientific research.
Autonomous Vehicles and War Simulations
It was conveyed that, particularly autonomous and electric vehicles must be examined from a security perspective due to the cameras, sensors, and software they house.
Giving artificial intelligence-supported war simulations as an example, Akşit stated that artificial intelligence tends to use cars directly as missiles in simulations.
International Strategic Practices
It was noted that, along with Türkiye, various countries such as Israel, the United Kingdom, China, Australia, Poland, and the USA also take such security measures for strategic facilities.
