CScale Secures $145 Million Investment for Optical Connection Technologies
Palo Alto-based startup CScale has secured a $145 million Series C investment to address optical laser failures in massive artificial intelligence infrastructures.
Palo Alto-based CScale has emerged from stealth by completing a $145 million Series C financing round to prevent inevitable optical laser failures in artificial intelligence infrastructures, bringing its total investment to $188 million.
Series C Financing and Investors
CScale announced that it has increased its total investment amount to $188 million with a $145 million Series C financing round. Nvidia and Intel Capital were among the company's first strategic investors.
Prominent funds such as Atreides Management, Valor Equity Partners, Premji Invest, Sutter Hill Ventures, and Maverick Silicon also participated in this round.
New Solution Against Laser Failures
Martin Lund, the company's CEO, stated that optical failures are becoming inevitable in gigawatt-scale systems and that connection technologies in data centers must absorb these issues.
The integrated optical connection architecture developed by CScale aims to prevent system crashes even if laser failures occur and to ensure that computing operations continue uninterrupted.
