Health Startup Launches AI-Powered Acne Prescription Pilot Program
Nolla Health is launching a pilot program in Utah that allows users to scan their faces and receive AI-generated prescriptions for mild to moderate acne.
Health startup Nolla Health has announced a new pilot program in the state of Utah that allows users to receive AI-based acne prescriptions by scanning their faces via the app.
Details of the Pilot Program Launching in Utah
Under the pilot program rolled out by Nolla Health, users in the state of Utah can automatically receive prescriptions thanks to an AI system that analyzes acne severity.
Doctor Oversight Stages in the Process
In the initial phase of the app, every AI prescription is approved by two doctors, while in later stages this oversight will gradually transition to a sampling method.
The company states that moving forward, at least 10 percent of monthly prescriptions, as well as all adverse effect and flare-up cases, will be reviewed by physicians.
Scope and Target Audience of the Application
Priced at $4.99 per month, this service covers only Utah residents aged 18 and older, and the system applies to mild to moderate acne cases.
In cases where the AI system cannot safely select a treatment, users are directly referred to a physician, and the system is currently capable of prescribing eight different skin treatments.
