Alibaba Announces China's Most Powerful AI Chip and New Model Plans
The company unveiled its new Zhenwu V900 AI chip and announced plans for trillion-parameter models, amid the backdrop of US-China technology competition.
At its annual conference in Hangzhou, Alibaba introduced the Zhenwu V900, which it claims is the country's most powerful AI chip, and shared its future artificial intelligence roadmap.

Alibaba unveiled its new AI chip technologies to the public at its annual flagship conference in Hangzhou.
CEO Eddie Wu stated that the new Zhenwu V900 chip is the most powerful AI chip in the country, offering three times the performance of the previous generation Zhenwu M890.
Artificial Intelligence Models
The company announced plans to train a new AI model at the scale of five to ten trillion parameters.
The current latest Qwen3.8-Max model has 2.4 trillion parameters, and this move aims to close the gap with advanced US models.
Data Center Investments
Alibaba also shared its strategic plans for expanding its data centers with participants.
The company expects to reach a computing capacity of over twenty gigawatts by 2032.

These announcements came just before a critical meeting where Chinese and US leaders are set to address AI competition.
