Amazon is holding discussions to acquire AI startup Decart at a valuation of approximately $7 billion. According to reports citing sources close to the matter, negotiations between the parties could conclude shortly, provided no disagreements arise or other offers are made.
Seven Billion Dollar Negotiations
It has been reported that Amazon is sitting at the table for a deal worth approximately $7 billion to acquire AI startup Decart. It is noted that if the talks progress positively and no new suitor emerges, the process could be completed in a short time.
While the companies and related parties have not yet made an official statement on the matter, Amazon left inquiries sent outside of working hours unanswered.
Technologies Developed by Decart
Nvidia-backed AI startup Decart has developed Lucy, a model capable of editing live videos instantly, as well as the Oasis model, which generates simulated environments for autonomous driving systems and robotics training.
The startup had raised $300 million in a funding tour held in May, led by Radical Ventures with the participation of Nvidia.
Previous Investment and Valuation Process
According to PitchBook data, Decart had a valuation of approximately $4 billion during the period in May. This rapid increase in the company's valuation stands among the notable developments in the sector.
On the other hand, it was reflected in the press that Anthropic had also conducted a review process last month but later abandoned its attempt to acquire Decart.
