Technology giant Amazon is conducting advanced negotiations to acquire the Israel-based artificial intelligence startup Decart for an estimated price of $7 billion.
Details of the Acquisition Talks
According to a report by The Wall Street Journal citing sources close to the matter, negotiations between the parties are progressing positively and an agreement could potentially be signed in the near future.
It is noted that the talks are not yet finalized, and the possibility of disagreements arising between the parties or another buyer entering the process remains on the table.
Place in Israeli Technology History
If this potential acquisition takes place, the valuation in question will go down in records as one of the largest exits in the history of Israeli high-tech.
Additionally, this move qualifies as one of Amazon's largest acquisitions, following its massive investments in recent years for MGM studios and Globalstar.
Past Offers and Valuation Increase
The reported price points to a massive increase of approximately 75 percent compared to the company's $4 billion valuation last May.
These ongoing talks with Amazon emerged approximately a month after its attempted acquisition offer with Anthropic, worth around $6 billion, failed following the due diligence process.
Decart Company Infrastructure
Founded in 2023 by brothers Dean Leitersdorf, Orian Leitersdorf, and Moshe Shalev along with their partners, the startup maintains its operations based in San Francisco.
To date, the company has raised over $400 million in investments from leading venture capital funds including Sequoia Capital, Benchmark, and Radical Ventures.
Innovative Technologies and Amazon Collaboration
Decart's core technology enables artificial intelligence models to operate efficiently and transition easily between chips belonging to different manufacturers.
The company also develops world models named Lucy and Oasis that reduce costs while creating real-time video and interactive three-dimensional environments.
Strategic Objectives and AWS Partnership
Amazon's cloud computing unit, AWS, had strengthened the collaboration between the two companies in 2025 by allowing Decart early access to its artificial intelligence chip named Trainium3.
This potential acquisition aims to support Amazon's efforts to reduce its dependence on Nvidia chips and significantly expand its artificial intelligence infrastructure.
