Google DeepMind Co-Founder Shane Legg warned that advancements in artificial intelligence technologies must not leave safety measures behind. Legg argued that capabilities are developing rapidly, but safety must not be neglected.

AGI Projections

Shane Legg established the DeepMind Institute to examine the impacts of artificial general intelligence (AGI). Despite statements from OpenAI and Nvidia executives, he continues to project a 50% probability of minimal AGI by the year 2028.

New Energy Alliance

Nvidia, Google, and Emerald AI officially formed the Artificial Intelligence Energy Management Alliance (AEMA) to prevent potential grid overloads. This initiative aims to promote flexible data center management.
