Ondas and Palantir Launch Regna AI to Develop Sovereign Artificial Intelligence for Defence Operations

Ondas Inc. and Palantir Technologies have formed a new company named Regna AI to develop mission-specific artificial intelligence systems for defense and security operations. This venture allows customers to train AI models on infrastructure under their own control.

Establishment of Regna AI

Ondas Inc. and Palantir Technologies Inc. announced the formation of Regna AI, a company focused on developing artificial intelligence systems for defense, security, and other operational environments.

This newly formed business will initially be wholly owned by Ondas and will enable customers to train and deploy AI models on infrastructure under their own control.

Demand for Sovereign AI

According to the announcements, Regna AI is designed to meet the demand for sovereign artificial intelligence, ensuring that government and commercial customers retain ownership of sensitive mission data and the models developed with it.

First Customer and Technological Support

Ondas will become the initial customer of Regna AI by deploying custom AI models to support autonomous mission orchestration at the edge.

Palantir will contribute to the model training infrastructure and engineering support, providing technical resources for the development and implementation of customer-centric AI systems.

SkyWeaver C4I Collaboration

This new venture builds upon existing collaboration on the SkyWeaver C4I open architecture command and control program, which is designed to integrate surveillance capabilities across multiple operational environments.

Hardware Platforms and Communications

Regna AI will develop models to operate across various hardware platforms, including unmanned aerial vehicles, stratospheric balloons, ground vehicles, surface vessels, and command and control systems.

The technology is designed to support mission execution in environments where communications may be interrupted or restricted, without requiring continuous access to external networks.

Executive Statements

Ondas Chairman and CEO Eric Brock stated that maintaining control over AI infrastructure and operational data is a critical consideration for government customers.

Brock emphasized that no government should be forced to build its artificial intelligence strategy on model or data infrastructure that it does not control.
