At the company's annual developer conference, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman introduced Dot, a new artificial intelligence agent capable of proactively completing complex tasks.
New Artificial Intelligence Agent Named Dot
A new artificial intelligence agent named Dot, described by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman as "extremely capable and always on," was unveiled at the company's annual developer conference.
These newly introduced agents possess the capacity to proactively complete complex tasks and aim to compete with Meta's popular personal agent Muse.
Model Delayed Due to Safety Reasons
OpenAI's announcement of these new AI agents came just one day after the deployment of a more advanced model was halted due to safety concerns.
While Sam Altman avoided directly addressing the delayed model in his keynote address at the conference, during a Q&A session he stated that they are investing more in the safety and monitoring of AI agents.
Other Innovations Announced at the Conference
At the annual developer gathering, alongside the Dot agents, the company also announced the release of GPT-6.1 Sol, an upgraded version of the GPT-6 Sol model, and a premium speed tier called Ultrafast.
Voluntary Agreement at the White House
OpenAI's announcements took place just ahead of executives from six leading AI companies in the industry signing a voluntary agreement with President Donald Trump to oversee development.
OpenAI president and co-founder Greg Brockman was also present alongside other technology leaders at the White House ceremony where the agreement was signed.
