Launched in October 2024 and focusing on elite companies developing artificial intelligence technologies, the iShares A.I. Innovation and Tech Active ETF has managed to significantly outperform the performance of the S&P 500 index since its inception.

Portfolio Structure and Scope of the ETF

While some exchange-traded funds house hundreds or even thousands of stocks, the iShares A.I. Innovation and Tech Active ETF holds only 49 companies in its portfolio.

The fund prefers to invest in select businesses that directly develop artificial intelligence technologies and actively use them in their operations.

High Returns and Market Success

Driven by strong gains recorded by semiconductor giants among its largest holdings, the fund delivered more than twice the return of the S&P 500 index.

Offering a 76 percent return since its inception, the exchange-traded fund outperformed the S&P 500 index, which achieved a 31 percent gain over the same period.

Prominent Semiconductor and Hardware Companies

The semiconductor industry sits at the very center of the artificial intelligence revolution with graphics processing units and advanced networking components.

Among the fund's largest holdings are Micron Technology, Nvidia, Advanced Micro Devices, Broadcom, and Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing.

Software, Cloud, and Cybersecurity Giants

In addition to hardware manufacturers, cloud computing giants such as Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon also find a place in the portfolio.

Furthermore, cybersecurity leaders Palo Alto Networks and CrowdStrike, as well as dedicated artificial intelligence laboratories Anthropic and OpenAI, are included within the scope of the fund.
