Global streaming rights for the AI-focused movie Cukur: Vartolu, produced by Ay Yapim's artificial intelligence studio AI Yapim, have been acquired by Prime Video.
Prime Video has announced the acquisition of global distribution rights for Cukur: Vartolu, an AI-generated spin-off film of the popular Turkish series Cukur.
Global Distribution Agreement
Prime Video has announced that it has secured the global rights for Cukur: Vartolu, a new film prepared using artificial intelligence technology by Ay Yapim, one of the leading production companies in the Turkish television sector.
AI-Focused Studio
The film was produced by AI Yapim, the Singapore-based artificial intelligence studio of Ay Yapim. The company previously brought its production titled Castle Walls to audiences via Prime Video in August.
Origins of the Cukur Universe
Known internationally as The Pit, this new extension of the Cukur series does not revisit the original production but instead focuses on the origins and past of the character Vartolu Sadettin.
Plot and Transformation
The production follows the transformation of a child who grows up on the streets after losing his mother and grandfather, turning from Salih into Vartolu through a quest for revenge, set along an axis spanning Dogubeyazit and Istanbul.
Technical Production Process
All scenes, character faces, and locations in the film were generated using artificial intelligence. However, the scenes were performed by real actors and the dialogue was recorded by human voice actors.
Creative Team and Credits
Cukur: Vartolu was directed by Umut Aral and produced by Kerem Catay. The film's screenplay was written by Gokhan Horzum, the head writer of the original series.
